Dos Anjos v Alvarez Betting Preview

In the main event of UFC Fight Night: dos Anjos vs Alvarez; we have an explosive lightweight title clash pitting the champion (RDA) against the number 2 contender in the world (Eddie Alvarez). This event promises nothing short of relentless excitement.

RDA is currently riding a five fight win streak and is arguably coming off his two most dominant performances in his UFC career. One of which was claiming the title with an impressive five round victory over Anthony Pettis. However, none more impressive than his 66 second TKO of Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone.

What stands out about RDA is his rapid progression under the tutelage of Master Rafael Cordeiro. Quickly developing his explosive striking has allowed him to surpass four of the greatest strikers the lightweight division has ever witnessed.

Standing in front of him is the gritty veteran Eddie Alvarez. Eddie is coming into the fight off an impressive fight win streak, winning five of his last six match-ups. More recently, Eddie climbed his way to the number 2 contender spot with a decision victory over Pettis. Despite being a heavy underdog in his matchup against Pettis, Alvarez was able to pressurize his opponent, enabling him to shut down his highly regarded kickboxing offence. This is something that we believe he will try to exploit in this encounter with Dos Anjos.

As both of these fighters are well rounded, there are multiple outcomes that this main event has to offer. With both fighters boasting impressive finishes on their resume with Eddie Alvarez finishing in 77% of his victories and Rafael Dos Anjos finishing 48% it does pose a question over the duration of this match up. However, these two fighters have gone the distance a combined 24 times in their careers and because of the raw toughness of these lightweight warriors, our prediction is that the champion will retain his title on July 7th with a hard fought unanimous decision over Alvarez.
